Obama wins key presidential primary

Local officials said early indications were that turnout was heavy, the latest sign of soaring enthusiasm for the 2008 field among Democratic voters. An ABC exit poll said more than half of the voters were black.

Mr Obama picked up a high-profile endorsement from Caroline Kennedy, the last living child of the late former president John F. Kennedy, whose young age and platform of change have drawn comparisons to Mr Obama.

"We need a change in the leadership of this country – just as we did in 1960," she wrote in a New York Times editorial titled "A President Like My Father".

A bruising week of campaigning in South Carolina featured both camps accusing the other of playing racial politics, and sparked a debate about former president Bill Clinton's fiery interventions on behalf of his wife.

Peer review: Merchants pay fees for sales that use plastic

A You have heard correctly: Merchants pay fees when you use your plastic for purchases. Those charges are called "interchange fees," although there may be some fees with other names built in as well. The system is fairly complicated, but the fact is that if you spend $100 using plastic when shopping, the merchant likely will see only $98 or $99 of it. Credit-card and debit signature transactions typically cost merchants between 1 percent and 2 percent of the purchase amount in fees, depending on the type of card and the banks involved.

Debit transactions using a PIN cost the merchants much less, around 0.2 to 0.5 percent. These fees are divided among the bank that issued the card, the credit-card network (Visa, MasterCard, etc.), and the merchant's account provider.

Some have called those fees an implicit tax, because merchants pass the costs on to customers in the form of higher prices.

Obama wins South Carolina primary

One question I would like to ask is what kind of Presidential Candidate has the audasity to run for political office when they are the wife of an impeached President? Or a better question is what kind of people vote for such a candidate? Please remember all who are hoping to become President of the United States agree on one idea and I am sure all of you do as well, its time for a Change.
